Description
Worthless by Amy E. Fraser is a bold, colorful, hand painted word painting featuring the statement “Worthless” in a festive Outsider art style. Worthless is part of the Inner Critic painting series.
The Inner Critic Series by Amy E. Fraser: Re-envisioning a fun grade school art assignment and transforming it with “tongue in cheek” self loathing, creating bright, multicolored, geometric, typographic, pattern filled, graffiti style paintings blatantly reflecting angst, depression, pessimism, sarcasm and the horrible things said to one’s self in spite of today’s trend toward aggressive positivity.

I must say the vibrant colors do nothing to distract from the dark word association rolling through my mind when looking at this series. They make me feel like I'm trying to laugh off deep seeded self-deprecation while viewing. To make matters worse, the memories of self-deprecation in my youth cause me to relate to these colorful images just a little too much!

I'm so sorry John. But then again... you totally get me and obviously can relate - so in all sincerity Thank You. Also... now you know why I normally only paint happy pretty things. I don't want anyone to feel sad when they look at what I create... I was just squeezing these in, getting it out of my system, then was totally going to bury them :)
