Artist's Description
This was an acrylic I painted from my front porch just using black & white paint. There was no snow, but I just painted the values, shadows, and trees I saw and the tree ridges ended up looking like mountains & everything else like snow, so added snow, pretty fun!!
About Gretchen Allen
Hi, I'm Gretchen Allen and live in Acworth, Ga near Lake Allatoona. I love to paint on location so most of these paintings were started on location and then finished in the studio. If you enjoy painting outdoors, I started a Plein-Air Group called: North Georgia Plein-Air Artists that encourages artists of all levels to go out and sketch from life, and meet other artists,. I make up a calendar for the year with the places we go...
