I started this little painting of my niece, Mellisa Jean, when she was getting ready for her college graduation ceremony. She was just absolutely beautiful and I knew I wouldn't be able to capture how beautiful she is but I had fun trying. This was a challenge but fun to do.

Hi, I'm Gretchen Allen and live in Acworth, Ga near Lake Allatoona. I love to paint on location so most of these paintings were started on location and then finished in the studio. I enjoy doing most subjects, working with oils, acrylics, watercolors, and pen & inks. It's usually the light that attracts me to a scene or object.
